Solutions / Capturing VariationsCapturing Variations
What is it?
In services procurement, it’s normal for projects to evolve through variations or change requests, which can include scope adjustments, pricing changes or extended timelines. While these changes often make business sense, many organisations fail to capture them properly due to fragmented manual processes or generic technology that isn’t built to support them.
Why is it important?
When procurement can’t see or track these changes, it becomes unclear what has changed, why it happened and whether it was justified. This leads to scope creep, budget overruns and strained relationships, making effective performance management almost impossible and ultimately causing everyone to lose.
